I think it's nice and I don't see why not although I always think that it sounds ethnic and would assume he was Hispanic if I saw the name. I like the name a lot!

I have a bad association with the name Diego, so I can't say that I really like it all that much. Other than that, it doesn't have that pleasant of a sound (but then, I've never been much of a fan of Spanish male names). It would be a bit off on a non-Spanish boy, but it'd be alright. I'm generally not against using names from different cultures, so long as the names aren't "abused" (as in, spelled far too kree8ivly, or used on the wrong gender).

I don't see the problem of someone who isn't Hispanic using it. Isabel is widely used even among people who don't have an Hispanic heritage, it doesn't bother anyone. Diego is a great name. :)

I love Diego but I do feel that it is more of an ethnic sounding name. Still, it's a great name. It's not any different for me than Maria. (like it but always think hispanic)

I love Diego, it could also work for someone who is Portuguese as it is a popular name there as well. It might seem a little odd on say a little blond haired blue eyed swedish boy you know what I mean? but maybe if they had dark hair or something. i don't know i'm rambling a bit am i making sense at all?
