I really like it for a girl. I'd probably spell it Esmée, though, to differentiate.

Esmé (Esme) is very pretty and has a great meaning, however I prefer it for a girl.

I kind of like Esmé for a boy though my first thought is of Esmé Stuart.I prefer the spelling Esmée for a girl.

I don't care for the name. I only see it as a feminine name, as I don't see anything masculine about it (but nor do I find it pretty).

Esmé is okay, but not anything that I'm really excited about. I agree with you that the spelling you mentioned is better for a boy; Esmé is the masculine form, while Esmée is the proper feminine form.

I love this name. I like the spelling Esmé for both sexes, and Esmée for a girl :-)I doubt I'd actually use Esmé as a boy's first name though - it's very effeminate: more so than most guys could pull off. I'd be more likely to use it as a middle name._____________________________________________________________________"There are few more distressing sights than that

I think it is one to grow on me. I prefer it on a boy, but it would be fine on a girl also.

I like it - and prefer it for a girl, even though I realise it originated as a male name. My parents' cat was called, Esme, when I was a little kid. ;)Sarah

I prefer Esmé or Esmée for a girl, it's nms on a boy, but there's nothing wrong with it.BTW, you can use the Character Map to insert fancy characters into your post - go to Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories and click on 'Character Map'.
