I prefer Caroline but agree that Clare and Charlotte have a nicer flow. Clare and Caroline have repeated 'air' sounds (not that that's horrible or anything). Is Clare already named? The reason I'm asking is because the French Claire does look a bit nicer with the equally French Caroline and Charlotte, imo.

No, Clare has not been named yet. The very same thing has crossed my mind with all names being French. I just prefer Clare over Claire. Definetly something to think about. Thank you!

If I had to choose between these, I'd choose Charlotte, as Caroline (ka-ro-LIEN, 'lien' as in 'line') doesn't appeal to me at all. But if it was an option, I'd choose Carolyn (KA-ro-lin).

I like them equally buthave to agree with the poster who pointed out that Caroline and Clare sound very much alike. For that reason alone, I would go with Charlotte.

Charlotte..more classy. For sure.

I think Charlotte works better wtih Clare. Had you not mentioned sister Clare I would have easily picked Caroline.

I have to go with Caroline, since it's my daughter's name. I do like Charlotte though. But I'm not a fan of Clare, sorry!

Charlotte. One of my favourite ever names, and I love nn Lottie :)
Caroline is nice, but a bit dated round here, and much as I love the sound of Carrie, the film puts me off : / Also, as others have mentioned, the "C" sound is too similar between the two.Love Clare and Charlotte as sisters, not that I'm at all biased...

Charlotte. Caroline and Clare sound too much alike.

I'd go with Charlotte because it sounds less like Clare. I'm awful at mixing names up, so I'd stay away from another name that starts with a k sound. I do love Caroline though.

CharlotteClare and Caroline are too matchy as sisters. Even though Charlotte starts with a C, it starts with a different sound so is less cutesy with Clare.I love both names, though.

Caroline. I'm slowly beginning to almost dislike Charlotte because I'm seeing it too much.

CharlotteClare and Caroline are too similar sounding, IMO. Even though Clare and Charlotte start with the same letter, they consist of different sounds. I like Charlotte and Caroline about equally, btw.

I would use Charlotte. Caroline to me is too easily messed up with Clare. I can see you calling out "Claroline" on accident.

In this case, Charlotte. The first syllable of Caroline rhymes with Clare, and I'd get the two of them confused.Besides, I like the idea of Lottie / Tatty / Charty and Clarey. :)Array

I love Lottie! That would be the nn I would use for Charlotte.

I prefer the name Caroline over Charlotte, and Carrie would make a sweet nickname to go with Clare.

I personally prefer the name Caroline, but I think Charlotte goes better with the name Clare.
