[Opinions] WDYT of Alice?
And of Rosemary? Not expecting, but discussing names, and these came up. They would both be honoring late members of DH's family. I did veto Gladys. Hopefully, I'm not offending anyone, but it does nothing for me. Also, I think that it is just too dated and not the type of name that is coming back into style now.:)Danielle

I like both names. I even like them together. Alice Rosemary. Very pretty.

Love Alice, falling in love very fast with Rosemary! I've always thought Alice was beautiful and I also love Alice in Wonderland, so that makes me like the name even more. Rosemary is gorgeous and like I said, I'm falling in love with that name so fast!

Alice Mary was my grandmother's name. (Her nn was Alsie.) Alice Rosemary would be very sweet.

I like Rosemary, and I really like Alice. Although the way I like it spelt is quite a major GP lol: Alyss. Which is why I would never use it, coz the poor girl would always have to be explaining that it was prn like Alice, not Alyssa-minus-the-a.

I have a love affair with Rosemary. I think I have around five characters with that name... hmm...I like Alice a lot too. Sweet and simple, but with a bit of a backbone to it.

I adore both names - Alice is sweet and spunky while Rosemary is elegant and almost artsy sounding- reminds me of a name a painter would have:)

I love Alice. Rosemary is ok, but not really my style. I'm very picky with Ros- names.

I love both Alice (my maternal grandmother's name) and Rosemary. Both are among my top female names. (And Alice Rosemary is one of my favorite Alice combos.)

I like both. Though I have a bad association with Rosemary, so I prefer it for a mn.

It's so funny that Alice and Rosemary are two names that DH & I have been tossing around for (very) future babies.I love them both. Alice is such a dainty, pretty sounding name. I find Rosemary spunky almost, and not old fashioned at all.

Actually, old fashioned names (like Emma, Ella, Violet, and even Alice) are coming back into fashion. Gladys might not be there yet, but even so I think it will make a comeback.Rosemary and Alice are very nice.

In a way I think Alice is a pretty, classic name. The "Alice in Wonderland" association is nice. But I also keep making the "waitress in Mel's Diner" and Ralph Kramden's wife association. So I can't quite shake the image of a blue-collar name.
As far as Gladys goes, it doesn't really matter since you don't like it anyway. But if you had told me ten years ago that Hazel would be coming back in style, I would have said you were crazy. But it looks like it is. The same could be true of Gladys ten to fifteen years from now. And then you'd look like a trendsetter.
