[Opinions] Welsh names
I recently started looking at Welsh names after someone (Array, I believe) suggested the combo Anne Morwenna. Got a twenty out of ten from me, and my dad started suggesting Welsh names he likes (Morgan, Arwen, etc.). So far, my favorites are:Alis
Anwen
Eira
Eirwen
Morgan (on a boy)
Morgana
Morwen
MorwennaWhat do you think of these? What are YOUR favorite Welsh names?

I really love Welsh names, though I don't care much for the names you mentioned. I like Morgan on a boy and Morwenna is rather nice, though. Here are some of my faves:GIRLS
Gwen - Not short for anything; I think it's spunky on its own.
Elen
Imogen
Nimue
IsoldeBOYS
Ioan / Yoen - Yoen is how I'd spell it in English.
Gareth
Galahad
Caedmon
Idris
Tristan
Steffan
Cole - I suppose it's a Celtic name. Old King Cole was a Celtic king, right?

Wow, thanks for those suggestions. Out of what you gave me, I like:Arianwen -- my only concern is that this is a bit long
Nimue
Aderyn -- also like Aderes, which is Hebrew
Rhiannon
Gwyneira
Lowri -- I love this, but it's just my name in Welsh, so I really can't make use of it
Mairwen -- I'm back and forth on this one

I like Carys and Lowri as well, but Caras Park is a well-known landmark in a city nearby, and Lowri is my name in Welsh. It would seem a bit pretentious for a girl named Laura to have a kid named Lowri... but it is lovely.

Your name is Myfanwy?! Too cool. I love that name, but I'm too scared that none of my fellow Americans will be able to pronounce it correctly. *eyeroll*I love Gwyneira as well. A lot of Welsh names are beautiful to me, but I would hesitate to use them because of people's pronunciation problems.
