[Opinions] May or Mae?
Which spelling do you prefer and why? Do the spellings conjure up completely different images in your mind? Do you prefer May or Mae (let's just not consider Mai or Mei this time, just the two classic spellings).Do you prefer it as a first or middle name? is it too short and simple as a first name? too filler for a middle name?Do you know anyone named May or Mae? Anyone who has it as a middle name?

Mae. I don't mind May though.
I prefer it as a mn.
And I don't know anyone named Mae / May. I've heard Ellie Mae before though, that's it.

I prefer May as a first name, but also like it as a middle name and nickname.I prefer Mae as a nickname, but also like it as a middle name. I don't care much for it as a first name, though.Overall, I prefer May. I just think it has a prettier/nicer look.I don't know anyone with the name, first or middle (as far as I know, in regards to the latter).

I prefer May, and as a middle name.

MaeI've always preferred -ae endings to -ay endings, though I don't know why. Anyway, Mae looks so sweet and old-fashioned.

I prefer Mae as I find it more aesthetically pleasing when in the middle name slot. However I always think it looks unfinished so as a first name I prefer May. My grandmother's name was Dasie May.

Definitely MaeI really like Mae, its quite pretty. I prefer it as a middle name. One of my best friends is named Randi Mae, and I think its so cute :]

I love this name. For the longest time Mae was my preferred spelling, but the May is growing on me. I guess I liked Mae better because it separates the name from the month. For some reason Mae seems more modern. Whenever I see May I always think of an old lady, but a Mae could be any age. I like it better for a first name. It's a bit filler for the second name. I think it makes more of a statement as the first name.

I prefer Mae, but it's my grandmother's middle name, so I may be biased.I would likely only use it as a middle name, it seems a little too incomplete as a first name.Other than my grandmother, I know a baby named Mae Rose Peace. She goes by the double fn Mae Rose. Peace is the middle name. My favorite Mae combos:Dorothea Mae
Lydia Mae
Celia Mae
Louisa Mae (would be lovely but a little too Little Women for me)
