[Opinions] Caroline
I love the name Caroline but does anyone think it sounds kind of old fashioned southern name for a little girl now a days or is it usable?

Caroline is definitely not old fashioned, not strictly Southern and is absolutely doable.

It is my daughter's name, Caroline Mary, and she is only 5 years old. It is perfect! My husband and I taught a Caroline Mary who is now in college, that's why we choose it. Our daughter is beautiful, classic, spunky, attentive, and a leader. She has blondish hair and clear blue eyes. I never doubted this name. Although she goes by Caroline, we have pet names that she likes: Carolina, Cara, Lina, etc. Everyone adores it!

I adore the name Caroline. I think it's popular enough now that no one would think it was too old fashioned or anything.Caroline is absolutely gorgeous, just divine. It's been a top fav. of mine for like a decade. I have Caroline Amelia as a combo, but I love Caroline Matilda too.

I used to dislike this name because of bad associations. The past few years, it's been growing on me and I love it now!

i don't think Caroline sounds very old fashioned. It has actually been quite common until recently. I much prefer Carolyn. I think Carolyn is elegant and sweet. Caroline is okay, though. Oh and I really dislike Carrie as a nickname

I think it's totally fine, though not really my style of name.

I've never known a likable Caroline in my life. all of that aside, I think it's usable and a nice name in general. albeit a little boring.

I don't find it old fashioned at all, plenty usuable. I know many more young Caroline's than older ones, if any.Now for my personal opinion....
I don't like it, but I dislike many -ine names. I will have to agree that Carolyn is a tad better. The only perk I see is the potential for the nn "Carrie"

I love it! It's sweet, and ages well, and not terribly popular!

Yuck!I HATE the name Caroline i think its ugly, and manly.
I prefer the spelling Karaline, it makes it less offensive, for me at least.
Carolyn is a nice name though, i prefer that of Caroline 10000%.

Carolyn is awful, not classy at all. In all the baby name books, and in my opinion, Caroline is timeless, Carolyn takes the name downtown. I detest when people call Caroline, Carolyn.

Depends on how you pronounce it...I love it said care-uh-lyn and care-uh-leen and find the name very sweet. However if said care-uh-LINE I don't like it...I don't care for any name pronounced with LINE at the end though. It's just something that urks me personally.
