My name is Leslie, and I love it.Back in the 60's, when I was born, everyone named their daughters Lisa, Kim or Michelle. I was always the only Leslie in all of my schools.I would only find it dated if you used it for a boy, as it was pretty popular for boys around 1930 or so. I don't see it dated for a girl because it never was a really popular name anyway.

I'm neutral on Leslie but love Liesel, its anagram. ----Betsy-----

Originally, this was a man's name, I believe, but now I think it's pretty dated if used on a man. I've seen Lesley on a woman, and I thought it was alright. Subtly pretty.

To me it seems almost dated but still not overdone. I've only met two or three ever, to my memory. My opinion on it is pretty neutral.

Yes, it does seem dated. And I don't have great associations with it, so that doesn't help. It's not an unattractive name, though. However, I grew up with a girl named Leslie that later went by nn Leigh because she was teased and called Lezzie (i.e. lesbian) quite often. :-

It does seem a bit dated, but I still like it. I much prefer it on a boy. -Amy-

I prefer it on a boy, in which case it's great. On a girl, it does sound pretty dated imo.--
