[Opinions] Sextuplets
I posted this on The Lounge by mistake so I am reposting it here.Hope this hasn't been posted already. Sextuplets were born in Northern Ireland the other day(the first in Ireland) and have just been named:Ursula, Austin, Shannon, Karla, Eoghan and Kerrie.(The parents are Nuala and Austin.)None of the names are my taste.ETA - Austin isn't trendy here yet - it's quite old-fashioned. I am thinking maybe Ursula and Austin are family names.

I don't like any of the names and they don't seem to go well together as a sibset.

I like Shannon on a boy. Otherwise, I really don't care for any of them either.

Ursula and Eoghan are great, but I really hate Austin, Karla, and Kerrie. Shannon is blah on a girl; okay if a boy. Not an awful sibset though.

Ursula? Blergh! What brought that one? D: Anyway, I like Shannon, Karla and Kerrie, though I prefer different spellings. They're all not so bad except for... yeah.

Ursula: I just keep thinking of the sea witch from "The Little Mermaid." Some people on the boards seem to like it, but I think it sounds dark and ugly.
Austin: Very popular in the western United States; kind of a cowboy name. I'm neutral about it.
Shannon: Dated, but cute. Still usable.
Karla: I like Karla, especially with a "K".
Eoghan: Never heard this one before. How is it pronounced?
Kerrie: Boy or girl? I like Cary for a boy, but think it's a little plain for a girl.

Eoghan is said Owen.Kerrie is a girl. Kerrie and Cary are said differently in Ireland. Kerry/Kerrie is Ker-ee and Cary is Car-ee.

I love Eoghan, but dislike the rest

Very uncomplementaryNot only do two of the names both begin with the same letter in a set of multiples while the others have contrasting letters (which I HATE), but each name sounds like a different person from a different generation with a different level of education chose it. You could maybe assume that one parent chose the names Austin, Shannon and Kerrie, and the other parent chose Ursula and and Eoghan based on style, but that leaves Karla, which doesn't fit in either category. It's as if they drew names from a hat in the hospital. Very disappointing.

I think Karla fits in with Austin, Shannon and Kerrie. I don't think Ursula and Eoghan are a similar style at all though

I agree.Austin is not trendy here so I see it fitting more with Ursula.Shannon, Kerrie and Karla go together and Eoghan is on his own : pAustin is a family name and I would not be surprised if Ursula was too.

Shannon and Eoghan are okay, the others bleah. And one of them is named Austin, the same as the dad! If somebody says "Austin", they won't know who it is!

I like Shannon and Karla. I kind of like Kerrie too, but would prefer Carrie.

Kerrie and Carrie are pronounced differently in Ireland.

Huh? What a strange mixture. Austin, Shannon (girl?), and Kerrie - Yes, I can definitely see these together. Maybe even add Eoghan to that mix. And maybe Karla, but that's really a stretch. But Ursula? And I like that name, actually, but it DOES NOT FIT IN at all, imo. It's like...
Jennifer, Michael, John, and Cleopatra, or something. Not working for me.

Ursula is a wowserThe others are disappointing but I'm more concerned about their well being. Are they all okay? They'd be pretty tiny, right?

They are all in intensive care. The hospital said they are all as well as could be expected for babies that size - they range between 1 lb 7 and 2lb 2 oz.

Oh okay, thanks. I might go look on google now and keep myself updated. I hope they all stay well.

A bit of a mixed bag. I don't mind Ursula. Karla is okay. Kerrie seems 80s, and Austin seems trendy almost. :/

Meh. They're not horrid, but none catches my eyes either. I guess at least they're not rhymey or something.

I like Austin, the others are too strange for my taste.
