It's a fave name of mine and I would love to use it in the future if possible. It's pretty popular here in Australia unfortunately. I don't know anyone with this name though.

I know one beagle and one teenager named Lucy. Among my friends, it had a surge in popularity after Across the Universe came out and the Beatles became popular again. I think the Beatles adds to it's popularity. Lucy and Jude. That's a big reason why I like Jude or why I started liking Jude.

I don't really like the name. I think it is too nickname-y to be a full name and I don't like the full names associated with it with it.

It is a strong name though. Lucille Ball is a great namesake. I prefer it to Lucia, Lucinda, or any other variant.

It's ok... It's not SUPER popular, but moving up... Kinda boring, but not ugly. A gal I worked with years ago when she was a teenager has a little girl named Lucy now.
I personally like Lucia, Lucinda and Lucille better, though I'm not likely to use any of them.

I love it because of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" I don't love it because it's really popular now.

I love Lucy but have never known any that I can recall. As for it becoming popular, all names cycle. I think names like Alice, Charlotte, Lucy, Henry and Oliver are on the rise. Maybe it's their time again. Maybe media has contributed to their success. At least they're good, solid classics and not another Nevaeh or Jaden.

I don't think it's popular. I adore it. It's adorable. I've heard one little Lucy in real life.

I used not to like Lucy, I think because it immediately reminded me of the Charlie Brown character.

It has grown on me over time, partly because I like the meaning. However, I prefer some of the other forms of the name, especially Lucia. I love Lucia!

It's extremely lovely, and simple. It's no wonder it is popular. I think it should be.

I love this name. If it is getting popular, it must be because it's a great name...it's pretty and spunky, old, established, and reminiscent of the past. I once knew a Lucy. Lucy was actually her middle name, but she hated her first name so she went by Lucy. She was a coworker of my husband's. She was in her forties when I knew her, and that was about twenty-five years ago, she must be around seventy now.

Blah. Don't care for the name. I think its popular because its cutesy, flirty, feminine, and it doesn't hurt that there is a song about her: "Lucy in the Sky." I knew one Lucy, my godmother.

I love the name Lucy, and it's also my (nick)name :)
I don't know any my age... I actually don't know any at all. It's just outside of the top 100 in the US for '09, right?
I think it fits in to the old-is-new, short-and-sweet category. It's a familiar name, and isn't trendy. It also works well as a nickname making it accessible from different directions.

I really like Lucy. It's my mother-in-law's name, and was going to be the name of my niece until my brother decided he liked Sally more. I still think Lucy would have been just as good because it's cute and not too popular, at least not where I'm from.

I think it's fine as a nickname for Lucinda, Luciana, Lucia, etc., but I find it a bit too cutesy on its own for a person. Old-fashioned names are back in style these days, so that's probably why Lucy is coming back. I don't know anyone named Lucy, but I have a dog named Lucy. I think it's cute for pets.
