I love it. I think it is so pretty and usuable but not overused and I love it's butterfly association. My favorite middle name for Vanessa is Leigh/Lee because it not only sounds great but it means meadow and butterfly meadow as a meaning is so pretty.

There's a little Vanessa in my toddler class. She's so sweet and cuddly.

I used to dislike this name, but it started to grow on me. It's still not one of my favorites, but I don't mind it.

I agree that it's not my style, but I say if you really like it, then go for it. It's certainly not a horrible name or anything.

It is a bit dated, but I love it anyway. I don't think it was ever popular enough for me to really dislike it due to its dated-ness. MNs, hm...
