[Opinions] Magnolia, Louisa or Cecily
In a VERY unexpected twist, my fabulous other half has agreed and seems very excited about trying for number three- I'm still in a state of shock because he seemed very reluctant up until this week and seems to all of a sudden be totally on board so...of course I'm already dreaming of names and funnily enough, he seems to be so into talking about it as well. We've gone through all of our old favourites and are now down to three- truthfully one is kind of ahead of the pack but I really want to see what you think about all of them.
I have one step daughter Natasha and two kids Scarlett and Malcolm. I'm pretty gutted about the rising popularity of Scarlett and want to avoid that at all cost with #3. If the little peanut turns out to be a boy, he will definitely be Rufus- that's 100% decided. So, for a girl, please give me your opinions on these three...would love to know:
1. How you picture a child with each name
2. Which you like the best and why
3. Which goes best in the sibsetLouisa (Lulu), Magnolia or Cecily???Thanks so much!!!!

I think Maggie would fit well with the sibset, but I'd rather it came from Margaret or Magdalen. Magnolia makes me think of bath soap, and I don't like that NO! in the middle.Lulu is charming! Louisa? Not sure. I like Louise and love Eloise, but I think I'd like Louisa all right if it sounded better with your ln. Only you can tell!Cecily sounds excellent with Malcolm and Natasha. It doesn't seem wrong with Scarlett, exactly, but the combination of a very old name and a very new one is a bit uncomfortable. Which is a pity, because it's a name I love very much and would be happy to see.

I think Louisa is best.I think Magnolia and Cecily are too old fashioned and don't go very well with Scarlett and Malcolm. Also I generally dislike Magnolia, because the "gn" in the middle looks and sounds unattractive to me, and I think Cecily sounds too much like "celery". Louisa is really pretty.(by the way I think Rufus is great!)

Magnolia! It's so lovely, and I also like the nickname potential. I think it goes best with the sibset. If you'd be calling Louisa Lulu most of the time, Natasha, Scarlett and Lulu sound a bit odd as siblings. Especially with your son having a distinguished name. Cecily sounds a bit weird to me, I've never been able to shake the "Sicily" vibe. It wouldn't be a bad choice with the sibset, but Magnolia works better. Also, the drummer from American band No Doubt and his wife just had a daughter a few weeks ago named Magnolia Renee.

Rufus is awesome, I love that name! Louisa "Lulu" and Magnolia are both really nice too, but not a fan of Cecily.1. How would you picture a child with each name
- I don't really picture a type of person in particular tbh, sorry!2. Which do you like the best and why
- I like Louisa "Lulu" the best as it fits in very nicely with your other kid's names and is a pretty classic. 3. Which goes best in the sibset
- Louisa, as mentioned above.

I like Louisa the best, although the other two are pretty as well.

I like Louisa and Cecily the best. Both are great names. I think Cecily goes best with your other children's names though.Natasha, Scarlett, Malcolm and Cecily

Louisa flows best when the other siblings are mentioned all at once, but since the kids won't always be necessarily grouped together, I prefer Magnolia or Cecily. I actually prefer Magnolia, being more uncommon than Cecily and it has a different feel than Louisa.Oh Dear- I did this wrong I realized. Let me leave what I already wrote, and fix it:
1. I think it's hard to say how each one's personalities would differ, considering in the end it's the same child, just with different name possibilities.
2. I like Magnolia best because it's the most different out of Cecily and Louisa, who sound more reserved, while Magnolia keeps the slightly eccentric feel in the sibset.
3. Louisa I have to say does, maybe because the sounds in it are different from the names already listed. But considering popularity and all, this isn't too popular, but for some reason it gives me a dated feel. That's why I like Magnolia, because even if it does become dated, she will at least fit in with her generation.

Firstly Yay for Rufus! :DSecondly, Natasha, Scarlett and Malcolm is fantastic! :)Thirdly, on to the names lol Magnolia - I really like it and it's certainly not going to have the popularity issue of Scarlett. My only issue is if Malcolm in the youngest, Malcolm then Magnolia, a bit M heavy. But then it's not a big issue at all really. I picture a Magnolia to be a book smart kid, but with a style of her own. She might be a little unconventional, talk to the birds type of kid, but she'll be able to hold her own and she's intelligent and witty enough that that doesn't really matter she'll have a heap of friends. Magnolia is dark haired with stunning bright eyes. She has a sophisticated dress sense with origninality all blended into one. Louisa - Again I really like it. It goes great with your kids names too. I dislike Lulu though, but thats just my personal taste. Louisa will follow the crowd a bit more than Magnolia. she'll be a girly girl, but with a smart head on her shoulders. She'll be really interested in dancing and partying as a teen, but will eventually settle down and get a good job. She'll be blonde haired and very slim. She follow fashion and like all the brand names, especially handbags. Cecily - I like it, but not as much as Magnolia and Louisa. Cecily will be a girl who always gets her own way. Bossy, but comes across as nice, so slightly sneaky. She'll be a little self centered but lack confidence. She'll have friends, but only them she deems to be 'in'. She'll love to spend money. Cecily could be either blond haired or black haired. She'll diet religiously and maybe wear a little too much make up.
Wow i've written you a mini essay lol. Please remember these are only my opinions and incase you couldn't tell my votes for Magnolia :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response- so appreciated and I read every word! Your description of Cecily kind convinced me that my nagging suspicion that it had an air or 'bossy' to it, was not just in my head. Truthfully, it's at present, a distant third to the other two. Magnolia is a true love name- I adore everything about it but I'm worried about the potential of 'maggie' and I don't love the similar starting sound to Malcolm...but your talk to the birds comment soooo has me at hello.
Thank you!!!!

1. How you picture a child with each nameLouisa is friendly, outgoing, intelligent, and astute. She likes flowers, the colour yellow and wearing ribbons in her hair. She has golden or brown hair and light eyes.Magnolia is attentive, patient, a good student, and somewhat reserved around strangers. She likes reading, writing, and drawing. She has dark hair and blue or brown eyes.Cecily is preppy, talkative, popular, and active. She likes horses, dancing, and being with her friends. She has blond hair and light eyes.2. Which you like the best and whyI like Louisa best because it's classical and the most pleasant to my ears out of the three. Also, the name makes me think of an idyllic summer. I prefer Lou as a nickname over Lulu, however.3. Which goes best in the sibsetMalcolm, Scarlett, and Louisa sounds the best to me, with Magnolia following not far behind. (I originally went with Magnolia, but Magnolia and Malcolm have the same initial sound).

Thanks for this response- I LOVED reading it and agree, the repeated initial sound in Magnolia is what's holding me back from it though I do adore the name.

I love Louisa "Lulu" and it fits the sibset very well. IMO, Malcolm and Magnolia sound a little too similar for siblings.

Thanks- it's definitely a front runner!!!

Hmm... tough one! I like Magnolia because it fits with the sort of sultry, Southern vibe I get from your other children's names... but Lulu (for Louisa) also fits that. I definitely like those two best of all.

Oh truthfully, those are our two favourites too:) Thanks!!!
