Wdyt of Beatrice? Beatrix? Which one do you prefer (or do you prefer another form of the name)? What is your favourite pronunciation of Beatrice?
Hypothetically, do you think that Beatrice and Florence would be too much for siblings? If you do, would Beatrix and Florence be better?
Also, any combo ideas for Beatrice?

In my family tree there's a Florence Beatrice, born in 1884! She had a cousin and a daughter named Beatrice after her, and a niece named Florence Beatrice. Clearly nobody found it too much! Or perhaps she was just an excellent person.
I far prefer Beatrice to Beatrix but that's partly because I find Trixie very canine.
Possible nns for Florence are a bit daunting. What about Beatrice and Flora? Or, what about just sticking with the full names, regardless?

I like both
they have different feels for me
Beatrice would be a sensible girl who is very book smart and can deal with a crisis, she would be the mothering type and put others needs before her own
Beatrix would be a fiesty, wild child who has a good heart but often acts first and thinks later. She'd be perceieved as a little out of the ordinary by alot of people but still be liked by most

I quite like both. Right now I prefer Beatrice. I naturally pronounce it "BEE-uh-triss," but the second syllable is barely there.
Beatrice and Florence are not too much as sisters, but I think they might be too similar.

I really dislike Beatrice. I think of "beat rice" and of two frumpy old ladies (both very nice, though) who lived next door to us when I was a kid, in succession to each other. They both answered to "Beattie". (Our neighbour on the other side was called Gertrude ) One of them lived with her sister, Alice.
Beatrix is somewhat better imo (what a difference that x makes!)

I like Beatrice. I know three girls with the name. One goes by Bea most of the time and is a very intelligent, beautiful and polite 9 year old. I also know a woman in her late 30s named Beatrice who always goes by Bimbo. Don't ask me why, I think it's horrible. She's very outgoing, fun and full of energy. The third one I know is a teenager. I don't really think she's that great I remember her always telling me about sexual encounters she had with a boy on a playground when she was 13. She couldn't be any more different from the other two Beatrices I know. She actually made me dislike the name for a while because it made me think of her. But the other two saved it for me.
My favorite pronunciation of Beatrice is BEE-ah-tris. I quite like Bea or even Bee as a nickname.
I never really liked Beatrix. The -trix part made me think of "tricks" which then made me think of someone who is unfaithful and tricks other people. Also I dislike the nicknames Trix and Trixie. It's harsh and not as elegant as Beatrice. I know four girls/women with the name at the moment. One is way over 80 and one is about 5. The other two are in their early 20s. The Beatrixs in their early 20s sometimes go by Trixie.
I also know two girls named Bea, but one pronounces it BEE and the other BAY-a. BEE is about 10, BAY-a is in her mid 20s.
I definitely prefer Beatrice over Beatrix. Much more elegant and friendly. I sometimes see colors when I hear or see names and Beatrice is a very dark blue mixed with black and dark purple. Very elegant. Beatrix is yellow and too bright.

I always see names (and words) in colour - because B is dusky pink, all names starting with that letter are dusky pink too! L and S and W are particularly attractive - all (tasteful) shades of yellow.

There are lots around here
I didn't know I was one until coming here and being like... oh, that's not normal? :P I think it's part of the reason why we like names so much. They're a lot more fun when they have colors, textures, personalities, smells/tastes, etc.!

I flip between which I like better but today I think I prefer Beatrix (I can't stand the nn Trixie though, ick!) I prefer the BEE-ə-tris pronunciation.
