[Opinions] Monica
What are your thoughts? Too Lewinsky? I've always liked it.

That's my mom's name! It's not one of my favorites, but I think it's nice.

I don't like it at all. I really dislike -ica names for some reason.

It's my Mother-in-law's name, but not a fan of it really to be honest. It's just not my style.

I've always liked Monica. Monica Lewinsky only crosses my mind when I hear "Lewinsky." For Monica, I think first of Monicas I've known. I work with one now, actually, and no one seems to react negatively to her name. There was also an admin at my son's school who gave birth to a Monica Violet last year. I really don't believe Lewinsky has the power to ruin Monica. It has a long history and other associations--Friends, Monica Seles, and St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine, just to name a few--to say nothing of the fact that there are plenty of moms, aunts, and grandmas with the name, and future generations could revive the name in their honor.

I think "Friends" before I think Lewinsky. Either way, I've never liked it. The sound is just unappealing to me. A bit too harsh with all the sharp sounds in it.

I always think of Friends but sometimes of Lewinsky or others I know as well. I think it's dated and I hate the -ica sound. Makes me think of ick and icky. I don't like the short Mon sound either (Mona is a different story) so overall I think it's unattractive. Monika is even worse.

I thought "Friends"......not mistress. I've never been drawn to the name, but I see nothing wrong with it. I've never known one and I don't get any particular vibe or impression from the name.

I was six or seven when that happened, so... I don't think of her at all. I also don't think it's too big a deal anyway. Monica is such a pretty name. I really like it.

Really, Lewinsky? Isn't that so long ago already? I'm in Canada, so here I really don't think that would be a big deal. My first association (besides my sister-in-law) is "Friends". Anyway, I think it's usable. Not my style, but totally fine.
Cute nickname options too:

Mon
Moni (moh-nee)
