Both of them will be generally pronounced as LOO-shən in English, which ruins the names for me. But this is the correct English pronunciation, pronounce -cian / cien / tian / tien as shən, like the word "magician".

It is OK in Sebastian / Sebastien but a bit ugly in Lucian / Lucien from my perspective. The French pronunciation LUY-SYEN is very pretty and I quite like the pronunciation LOO-cee-ən which is not standard.

Lu-shen. It's okay, but I'm obsessed with Lucy, Lucia, Lucinda, Lucille, etc, and just think that the names sound super feminine. I love Lucretius, in a guilty pleasure way, but generally, I prefer to hear "Luce" names used for girls.

I love Lucien, I have met a few older men and at least one child with this name, it's very handsome. I like the way Lucian looks but don't like the pronunciation.

It's alright. I'm not big on the Loose sound but if you pronounce it with 2 syllables, it's a nice smooth classic name, a lot like Julian.
Lucien looks too feminine to me, unless the guy is a French speaker I guess.

I pronounce Lucian as 2 syllables: loo-shan. I'd pronounce Lucien as 3 syllables: loo-see-en. I have trouble pronouncing it the French way.

For a boy I prefer the spelling Lucian, quite handsome and more interesting than Luke / Lucas.

It's on my list, I like it. It's a handsome name. I say Loo-see-uhn, really not a fan of Loo-shun personally.

I'd say Loo-shan. And I love it to pieces! Lucian would be my choice over Lucien , but then I'm a Yank, not French.

I like it! Loo-see-anne or Loo-see-n, depending on the spelling.
