I like both names, and I just cannot decide which one is prettier. They have the same pronunciation, but what I am really looking for is the more captivating and beautiful spelling. Which spelling is better?

Amelia, looks prettier and I prefer the pronunciation (I've always pronounced Emilia with an 'Em' sound)

I prefer Emilia because “amelia” is also a medical term for the congenital lack of limbs. It’s a negative association to have, imho.

Emilia. I guess I just like the Latin looking spelling more - where the letters tell you how to say them. I like how the initial vowel isn't an "uh" sound.

I say them differently, at least in my head. uh-MEEL-ia versus em-MEE-lia.
Amelia with its e seems to contain the sound of the word mealy, and Emilia seems more like the word demilune, like Emil + ia, the ee sound not as long.

I also pronounce them with a subtle difference in my accent. uh-MEEL-ee-uh and eh-MEEL-ee-uh respectively. I think Amelia has a slightly nicer meaning. I have to admit I don’t love the “mealy” sound in the middle, but both are nice enough names. Both are VERY popular, as well as lots of similar names like Emma, Emily, Amelie, etc. but if that doesn’t bother you I don’t think you could go wrong either way.

Both are gorgeous, but I LOVE Emilia.

I don’t pronounce them the same, and in many countries they are pronounce completely different. An example is in Portuguese and Spanish, Amelia is prn as ‘Ah-meh-li-ya’, where as Emilia is prn as ‘E-mee-li-ya’. Hope that made sense

Definitely Amelia for me. Both are popular where I live, but with Amelia at #2 I think it would just be easier to avoid confusion. I just like how it looks too, and I have a good association with it,

Emilia has a horrible meaning, in my opinion, whereas I find the meaning of Amelia neutral. I would therefore choose Amelia. Amelia is also more common so has a bigger probability of being spelled correctly. I am not a fan of either, too common, but I really like Amalia.

Both names do have somewhat negative meanings, and Amelia can also refer to the congenital lack of limbs. These meanings are why I’d avoid Amelia / Emilia completely, tbh.

I prefer Emilia, and they are not pronounced the same were I live or in many parts of the world so I'd take that into consideration if it's just a spelling question for you.

They’re not actually pronounced the same. Amelia is pronounced A-mee-lya and Emilia is pronounced E-mee-lya, they’re very similar though.

Maybe I’m biased because it’s the most similar to my own name but I’ve always preferred Emilia. I may also because friends and family call me Emilia sometimes. I think it looks and sounds nicer and is less common (at least in Scotland)

Amelia is beautiful as well though.
