[Opinions] Avalon
What do you think of this name? What do you picture a girl with this name looking or acting like? Thanks!

it actually has a slightly masculine vibe to me, since a long time guy friend of mine had it in his username for most sites, after an album we loved. i know Avalon would be very hard for a guy nowadays, but it's still cool to me...anywayyy, it's lovely regardless, though cheesy just because it's been used in brands so muchz as others have said. that's not my first association, though.i picture an ambitious, kind of straight-a student sort of girl, who likes to combine her taste for art with interest in STEM related fields.

I like it in theory, but it was the name of a home my grandma lived in for some time. It sounds mystical. I imagine it to belong to a princess.

I agree with noel, it has a vibe like Chanel. Brand-name-ish. Not tacky or unpleasant, but shamelessly a little fanciful.
Or like Galadriel. Greenleigh. Maybe Isabeau.
She is nerdy, a nice person but not the kind that gets popular. Takes after the parents who'd name their daughter Avalon.
It sounds enough like Evelyn to become popular. Avalon : Evelyn :: Everly : Emily
I now have the Roxy Music song stuck in my head.
The backup singer at the end. Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo, ooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaa

top of the high school food chain, straight brown hair, tall and skinny.

I kind of like it, but I think it's been overdone in non-namey contexts.
I'm picturing an artist or musician with long hair wearing a long dress.

I like Vala as a nn, and the double island thing with Avalon Skye.

I enjoy the sound and the Arthurian association. I can’t say I get any strong vibes appearance/trait-wise from it. I tend to think of it more as a middle name name than first, but let me play a bit...Avalon Bridget
Avalon Cora
Avalon Delia
Avalon Emilia
Avalon Flora
Avalon Golda
Avalon Hilary
Avalon Iris
Avalon Julia
Avalon Kenna
Avalon Moira
Avalon Orla
Avalon Philippa
Avalon Rachel
Avalon Sibyl
Avalon Thea
Avalon ZoeI think Avalon Hilary, Avalon Julia, and Avalon Rachel work best, but I kind of like Avalon Golda, too. What would you pair with Avalon?

Avalon Isobel has a nice, “normalizing” feel to it. I like Avalon Gwyneth, too. :)

It sounds like a cosmetics company...I guess because of Revlon...and Avalon Organics, plus it's the name of a salon near where I used to live.I think the popularity of Ava makes it seem more tryhard than it would otherwise. It comes across kind of like Chanel would, to me...pretty, shallow, whimsical, unique but mainstream. I don't dislike it, but I wouldn't want to be named it.

I love it. It was on my short list (top 7) for my daughter, but we went with Elva. We also have positive associations with the French city Avallon, which might have been of influence in our love for the name. I also like the Arthurian / Fantasy vibe it has. That combined with the usage of Ava and Madelon (which is a normal name where I'm from), makes it an interesting but not weird name to me.

I like the sound and would like it on someone else. Not necessarily something I would use personally. I think of a blond girl.

I think its a nice name for a fantasy/ sci-fi character, but maybe not so much a real person.I could imagine it on a girl from a pseudo-mediaeval fantasy or futuristic sci-fi story.

My thoughts pretty much mirror yours. A name that I feel wouldn't be easy to pull off for an actual person.
