I have always loved Sylvia (and Sylvie). I just adore the meaning and the sound. I love Patricia too. Albert puts me on the fence a bit. I like the nn Albie, but I think I prefer it as a middle name. I think the sexual connotations around Prince Albert and the horrifying psychological study around Little Albert put me off the name a bit. Gerald is ok, but it doesn't do much for me. I especially loathe the nn Gerry. Gerard is far superior, imo.

Gerald is a nothing name, with a faint flavour of red hair and freckles and a golfing hat.
Patricia is serenely lovely, but completely unusable for nickname reasons. I've never met a Patricia who wasn't either Pat, Patty, Patsy, Tish, Trish or Trisha!
Albert is almost a GP I suppose: where I live, and in today's world, I wouldn't use it as a fn but I like it a lot and would happily consider it as a mn. At least then it wouldn't become Al, Bert or Bertie. OK, Al isn't too bad, but not good enough to take the risk and use Albert.
Sylvia is lovely, I just hear the song every time - the Shakespeare one, not Sylvia's Mother! The only Sylvia I've known well was in my class at junior school: she was large and clumsy and unattractive, and seriously unwashed with BO, but a very kind, shy, pleasant girl. Not a classic Sylvia, but the name is so lovely I didn't mind the association at all.

He had sandy blonde hair in his youth, but he did have freckles, and he loved to golf. Weird.

I don't really like Albert, because I don't care for the "bert" syllable, but Al is a friendly nickname, so I give it half a thumbs up.

Albert & Patricia are alright, (really not much to say about them) Gerald sounds a bit harsh and I absolute adore Sylvia! Such a classic and beautiful name that works wonderfully on all ages. I always admired it, even well before my other niece came along, her name being 'Sylvia Charlotte'
I think I could see Albert useable as well (though certainly not to the extent of Sylvia) but as for the other two, nah.

Sylvia isn’t bad, although I have no love for it.
The other 3 are pretty typical old lady/old man names that I think are ugly.
