I'm stuck between these two names for a boy. The family has a long history of Alexander's in the family & this name is a deviation, but not too far from the traditional names .

I prefer Alexis. Have you also considered other Alex- names, such as Alexian?

I’d stay with Alexander. Lots of nicknames.
Plus, I love Alexis for a girl. :)
