[Opinions] Louise
What do you think of plain old Louise. Not Louisa (which I really do love). Can you imagine it on a child today?

I think Louise fits in better currently than it would otherwise, because Eloise is on the rise, and they sound so alike. I prefer Eloise, which sounds younger and more energetic to me, but I like Louise, too; it sounds grounded/bold/understated in contrast - very likable at all ages, even though it's not a name I'd use.Or, the vibes I get are like... Eloise is to Vivian, Iris, Penny ...as Louise is to Frances, Myrtle, Diane.

It's a classic, not at all pretentious, and sweetly pretty. Totally wearable on a child today.

I think it's painfully boring and one of the "wannabe French" names - like Nicole or Simone. The sound isn't bad per say, but like you, I prefer Louisa. I wouldn't mind meeting a little Louise - it's much better than, say, Olivia or Madison.

I have a fondness for it because of Louise Brooks. To me, it's a sassy sort of name. I would love to meet one, today.

I much prefer Louise to Louisa, which seems needlessly complicated and/or tarted up. Louisa is mostly given to Afrikaans-speaking girls in South Africa - I've never met an English one - but they tend to go by Louise. I can readily imagine it on people of all ages. I like it well enough, but I like Eloise so much more that I'd never consider using Louise. For what it's worth, I much prefer Lewis to Louis.

I like it much better than I like Louisa. Louisa lays on the fainting couch all doped up on laudanum, but Louise is always busy doing something or going someplace.
I can't really see either of them on a little kid, but if I had to speculate, I guess I'd be slightly less surprised to see Louisa than Louise.

I don't think it would be at the top of my own list, but I would think it was cute in someone else's child. I think it has a quiet, classic, understated charm.
