A solid, classic name. I like Tommy a lot, Tom is dull.

I have a nearly 6 year old called Thomas :-). Although there are 2 other Thomas's in his class at school I don't regret calling him it. P.S. I love Carys & Howard.

I like it (more than most traditionally common guys' names), but the meaning's always bothered me a bit...it seems to imply that Thomas is "the other one", defined by association, rather than his own person; the same thing bugs me about Eleanor.

I love it! Timeless classic.

I think it’s lovely. Good, solid name. I see no need for “Tom”.

I like it pretty well. I'd use it. It doesn't really strike me enough to have it high on a list, though. I think Tom is great, and Tommy for a young boy. Using Thomas all the time and shunning the nickname, would not appeal to me.

Both my grandfathers - one from Tyneside, one from Manchester - were Thomas. So I'd have used it, given enough sons. Tom is a very decent nn, and Thomas is OK too. I far prefer Thomas, and Tom, to Sean, regardless of the timeless splendour of Mr Connery!

YawnIt sounds nice but is painfully boring.

I love the name Thomas. It's strong and sturdy, yet gentle and sweet. Its a bloody shame it's the most common ass name in the universe

I like both Thomas and Sean. They are both decent and boring but good, solid names. Tom is okay but I much prefer the full form only and I dislike Tommy.
