[Opinions] Anna Names
Which of the Anna names are best in your opinion? What are your general impressions of some of the more notable ones? What kinds of people do you imagine? Such as Anne/Ann, Anna, Annie, Annabeth, Annabelle, Annmarie, Anneliese, Anastasia, Annora Etc. My family has the Anna names deeply rooted in our history so I often circle back around to them just for kicks and giggles even though in general I find Anna a little bit blase. Though I'm not going to lie I have considered continuing the tradition in times past by humoring the idea of using Anna-Elizabeth (my favorite, a great grandmother's name), but it's just So Stinkin long it would be so inconvenient and the character count would run over on documents here in the US , which tend to have a 12 character limit. So in the present I am contented with the idea of Elodie Anastasia. It's a nice little nod without being overly prominent.

Annabel is my favorite.Anna is super common here and has been for ages so I find it really bland.Annabeth makes me think of Percy Jackson and I like that, but before Percy Jackson I hated the name and thought it was homely.Anneliese is cute.Annora is nice on paper but sounds too much like "a Nora" to me.Anastasia is nice, but if you want to honor an Anna this doesn't work so well, in my opinion.Elodie Anastasia is nice, but I don't consider Anastasia an Anna-name so the honoring aspect doesn't really apply here, in my opinion. I know Annora has a different background too, but because it has Ann in it it feels more honoring.Annabelle is too frilly and horror movie doll so Annabel is nicer.Annie is okay.

I dearly love Anna names. Anna has always been my favorite name. I remember becoming obsessed with it when I was around 5. I also love Annie and Annabel. Another favorite is Susannah if that counts. I don't really picture any type of person in particular with Anna and Annie. Annabel seems a little more formal or aspirational, and Susannah feels Southern (US) in a traditional type of way.

I like Anna, just Anna, it's dignified, don't-mess-with-me name, imo.
I've got a cousin named Anna, so I can't actually use it, she's much older than me, tough and unfriendly, self-proclaimed volleyball star kind of person. But there are way too many Annas in the world, so I can actually imagine soft and kind-hearted Anna :)
I'm somewhat charmed by Anne-Claire (or Annclaire), and I also like enigmatic Annabelle.
And I found some quirky submitted Anns, that caught my attention: Annavera, Annavieve, Annamíra, Annamae.

I prefer Anne - family mn for generations - and could also use Marianne. I go back and forth on Annabel, that spelling only. The rest I don't like, or don't actively dislike but wouldn't use. Annabeth is awful, like something that's been unsuccessfully genetically modified. Spider legs on a fish. Anneliese is dated where I live, and Anastasia is very long indeed for a very small return. I prefer Honora to Annora, and just about anything to Anna.

Anneliese is essentially a shortened version of Anna-Elizabeth so you could use that. It's also my favorite of the Anne/Anna names, familiar but a bit more interesting.

I like Anne, it’s simple.

Sometimes simple works. There is a woman that works at my university named Anne Smith and I always wonder if it has helped her remain private having such a common sounding name. It's only a single step behind "Jane Smith".

Thank you! :) originally for Several years my favorite Elodie combo was Elodie Raquel but a friend had convinced me it doesn't have that same flowy, princessy vibe that's my usual taste. So I came up with this combo literally only about a year ago while throwing ideas at this friend one night during bored, quarentine hours over the phone one evening and she was like "Yes!! That one!! That's the name!" Hahaha
