I know it is Jack-lyn but I was wondering if it can also bepronounced jack-qwa-lyn ( does this make sense?) Thanks for all your help.

I think Jack-wa-lin sounds correct, but so does jack-lin and jack-a-lin

Ja-kwa-lin. I'm in the U.S., and to me this sounds "correct."

In Australia we pronounce it either: JACK-lin or JACK-a-lin Sieglinde

I say Jack-a-leen.

I pronounce it Jack-a-lyn or Jack-qua-lyn. You could probably even get away with pronouncing it Jac-a-leen, or Jac-a-line

Of course Jacqueline CAN be pronounced "jack-qua-lynn." I think that the majority of women in the USA I know with this name do pronounce it with the "kw" sound in the middle. Of course most of the people from England who have commented on that pronunciation to me think it's "as bad as trying to pronounce the 'b' in debt." But as Americans also use the -th- sound in "Anthony", it's just a part of American culture to me.

Do you think it sound better than Jack-lny? I do but I would be worried about people getting lazy and not pronouncing the qua in the middle. I also am not sure about the NN Jackie. And I know some people would call her that.
