I like Dillon, but of your two choices, I'd pick Dylan.

Dylan is more appealing; I just love the look of it. I also like Dillon. Dillan doesn't look right to me.

DylanDillan looks like it would be a good choice, because the y is very trendy nowadays. However, I would much prefer Dillon over Dillan, but I loathe Dillon as well because it reminds me of the surname.Dylan on the other hand is how it is spelled in Welsh mythology, which dates back hor far? This is my reason for saying Dylan is the "traditional" spelling, and I really prefer the traditional spelling of (almost) every name. (Exceptions would be replacing some Ch- with K like Kristina - but thats probably because its my own name).

I've always prefered Dillon

Like choosing between Marshall Dillon and Dylan ThomasI haven't met a real person with the Dillan spelling. Dylan is, I suppose, the "right" spelling. This name is not on my faves list, so I am undecided about how I would spell it, as my subject line demonstrates. Given the somewhat dismaying popularity of Dylan, the fact that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Texan, and that I lean toward all things cowboy, I'd probably go with Dillon if I had to.

I far prefer Dylan.Array (knew a kid whose half-illiterate parents coincidentally named Dillon Thomas)
