Re: February Top 10
I don't think I did this last month!Lately I've been trying to create combos-to-end-all-combos; all-in-one names that cover all my bases in terms of honouring and meaning. Let's see:Marigold Jamesina / Jamesina Marigold
Marian Sylvia Pearl
Pearl Mary Joan (no matter how I fuss over Pearl, I cannot find a combo I like for it. Boo)
Fern Marianne
Sylvia Violet
Daisy Norah
Zelda Jeanne
Beatrix Mary "Bix"Wallace James Crispin "Wally" - I actually like Wally James Crispin better, with Wally the full name, but I dunno...
Errol
Crispin
Marius
James
Arthur
WillI'm dreadfully stuck on boy's names. Harumph. I don't have enough meaningful names to work with for my boys.

I knowwwwwIt IS a lovely fabulous name but I just don't have a special special meaning for Bergliot like I do for all those other names! Poor Bergliot, not in the special club. I'll see what I can do to make it special ;)

I think it is special because it is poetic. Bergliot means "saves light," and when paired with Pearl, it suggests to me some sort of magical pearl amulet which absorbs light and can be used later in dark times. It's really quite special.

that is quite poetic!I rather like that meaning - like a name as a lucky charm to ward off darkness. Thanks, B!

How could I forget about that method of special-ifying?! Thank you my dear.

Zelda Jeanne is perfect in my opinion, and Fern Marianne is so elegant and composed, it makes me think of a medieval princess (even though they probably didn't have such names).

I love Fern Marianne.I've been playing with Marianne quite a lot lately - your comb o is perfect. Marigold Jamesina / Jamesina Marigold - Pretty. Jamesina is a little bit too fancy for me, but I like it. And of course I love Marigold (I'm a big L.M. Mongomery Fan)
Marian Sylvia Pearl - Marian is another name I've been playing with. I really like this combo. Normally Pearl reminds me of a big haired, heavily made up Midwesterner - but in this combo it's very pretty.
Pearl Mary Joan (no matter how I fuss over Pearl, I cannot find a combo I like for it. Boo) - Not working for me. I'm not sure why. Pearl Evangline or Pearl Christophine.
Sylvia Violet - I love this so, so much! Sylvia is such an gem.
Daisy Norah - Wonderful!
Zelda Jeanne - Another winner.
Beatrix Mary "Bix" - Fantastic.Wallace James Crispin "Wally" - I would go with Wallace, just because I love the name so much. I like it.
Errol - very cool.
Crispin - I'm on the fence on this one. It has a cool sound to it, but I can't help but think "Crispex." :-(
Marius - Love it!
Arthur & Will: Lovely.I like your naming style so much, I wish my husband had as good of taste as you.

aw!Why aren't you sweet! Truthfully I'm not sire if it is my style so much as finding names that have really deep meaning to me and fiddling with them until they fit nicely together! Every name up there has some meaning behind it. Beatrix is the only one that is pushing it (well, so is Crispin) but the nickname Bix is what I want and Beatrix seems the most logical choice. I love Pearl Christophine! Thank you!
What is Crispex? It sounds like cereal, is it cereal?

Love love love that you're loving Daisy and Fern. Marian Sylvia Pearl is a gorgeous combo, as is Sylvia Violet and I love Beatrix. I really dislike Wallace - no real reason, just personal preference, although James Crispin as middle names is fantastic. Love Will as well.

Why thank you :) I quite enjoy Marian Sylvia Pearl the best as well, and always switch the names around in order - I seem to like a different combo of those names every week :)I'm on the fence about Wallace sometimes too - I really do prefer just Wally, but the name Wallace is soooo loaded with meaning for me, I feel compelled to include it somehow. thank you!
