I love seeing what names people hate, much more than seeing what names people like love. Wonder why I'm so negative-minded. Anyway:
Margaret -- I don't hate this but I don't like it. It's a classic I can't get into.
Mallory -- Eh. Not terrible, but I wouldn't use it, that's for sure.
Edith -- This can't lose the old lady image for me.
Primrose -- Also hate this, it's ridiculous.
Abigail -- Totally with you. Hate hate hate.
Ashley -- I don't hate it, but something keeps me from really liking it. Aside from the fact that I'm sick of the sight of it because I've known so many, I'm thinking that I just don't find it feminine enough, although it's not terrible in that regard.
Verity -- Nope, disagree. I love this name.
Avery -- I hate it also. Weak, whiny, wimpy for a boy and not suitable for a girl.
Ella -- Also hate. All I can think is "elephant."
Brooklyn -- Agree. Abominable. Not that I think Brooklyn, NY, is bad at all, but as a personal name it's abominable.
Bella -- Agree, I hate it. Worse than Ella. Heavy, ugly.
Emerson -- Fairly neutral on this for a boy, think it's awful for a girl.
Addison -- Oh my God this is so awful.
Lola -- I don't hate it, but think it's got a sexual image that is a bit too much.
Hope -- I don't hate it and don't love it.
Ireland -- Ditto what I said about Brooklyn.
Esme -- This is stupid. Hate it.
London -- I don't mind this for a boy, hate it for a girl.
Isla -- Hate it, insubstantial.
Blaise / Blaze -- Yes, bad.
Cruz -- I regard this as Hispanic so I don't judge it.
Cullen -- Don't like
Jagger -- Someone somewhere has used this as a first name? It's awful.
Brent -- I like this.
Wade -- I like this also. I like its nineteenth century image.
Wayne -- I don't hate it and don't love it.
Channing -- This is also weak and whiny.
Tanner -- Bad.
Hunter -- Bad.
Kingston -- Really bad.
Curtis -- I don't mind it.
Atticus -- I love this.
Brock -- Dislike, overly butch.
Grady -- Unattractive.
Cash -- I like it. But I prefer it as a nickname for Cassius.
Ashton -- Too weak for a boy.
Asher - Also too weak for a boy.
Chance -- Silly.
Braxton -- Don't like.
Tucker -- So ridiculous.
Malachi -- I like it.
Ezra -- Don't like.
Jace -- Don't like either.
The further I got into this, the more I realized that I could have just said, "I agree with you except for these few", but what the heck I just kept going. I dislike the vast majority of them also.
