Curtis - Really don't like this one. I hate names that end in -us or -is sounds for some reason.
Corwin - Sounds like he'd wrestle crocodiles.
Chase - Sounds like he'd like to shoot deer.
Garrick - I've never heard of this name before. It sounds kind of like redneck meets fanciful fairy. I prefer Merrick.
Hamish - I like this.
Hayden - No. Boring trend name.
Jeremy - I had an old boss named Jeremy (in his thirties still sporting a bowl cut) who I absolutely loathed so he's ruined this name for me.
Elliot - meh.
Ezekiel - I have a little cousin named Ezekiel called Zeke. He's adorable but I don't care for it. It seems straight out of Deliverance to me.
Gage - shockingly awful name.
Malachi - sounds sinister. Elena - pretty, though I'd never think to use it.
Greta - I like this a lot as a nn for Margaret.
Ingrid - love this name. Don't understand why it's not used more.
Maci - Seems contrived. I prefer Maisie, but I don't even really like it too much.
Mara - I think this is pretty and wonder why it's not used more too.
Meredith - it's my roommate's name. I like her, but I also associate it with mean girls from the 80s.
Maura - I like Mara more but this name has some kind of charm I can't explain.
Phoebe - It's slightly charming on someone else's child or animal, but I don't truly like it. I'm a huge fan of Friends but Phoebe was my least favorite character.

I like Hamish; Jeremy is very stylish; Corwin might be a bit much as a fn, but would make a splendid mn.On the girl side, I like Meredith and would like Dorothea, nn Thea, but not the name alone. Mara is quite nice and a whole lot better than Maura.

Thanks, I agree with a lot of your opinions. Chase is a sound I really like but it's just such a common word that using it seems silly. I know Mark is a common word name that no one bats an eyelid at. But Chase is kinda weird..I really want to love Hamish but something feels a little hollow and empty about it. Like a wet fish handshake it doesn't express much personality to me.

I likeElliot - its on my favourites list at the moment. It just has a nice vibe to it like an Elliot would be a well accomplished and lovely guyI don't care for any of your other boy names sorry, though Hayden is okayFrom the girls:Elena - I like Lena so Elena is nice too. I imagine a dark haired bookish girl who would go on to be a doctorMeredithPhoebe - One of my favourite girls names ever. I've liked Phoebe since the days I was a teenager watching charmed. DH is starting to warm up to it as he has found a Feebe in his family treeThea - I love Thea as a stand alone name. I don't feel it needs a nickname. Thea is greatBronte - bit of a guilty pleasure but I like it. I've only ever met one Bronte. She would be 21 now.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I care for any of those boys names either, they aren't my usual names but I'm trying to work in some fresh names. I quite like Elliot too, thie thing that stops me from loving it is that to me it feels similar to the word idiot. Which is silly but I can't shake the connotation. Why is Bronte a GP name for you? Do you think it's too out there for you to use irl?
