Re: More names to think about

Anton is kind of high impact in American English IMO, because of the way it is spoken, with more emphasis on the second syllable than what's typical. So it sounds very assertive, or sassy, or else nerdy to me (depending on my impression of the bearer I guess). It's nms but a good name anyway.
Almost named my son Charles "Charlie." It didn't go with our surname, though. It's a cool name, safe, less bold and alpha-ish than Jack but in the same friendly-guy vein.
Lyle doesn't seem masculine enough for my taste, and feels almost as greasy to me as Carlisle does. I don't think it's a bad name, but I don't really like it.
Laverne I would expect to be female. Lavern reminds me of the style of la-prefixed names, like Lamar does. What I don't like about it is the stress on the second syllable. It seems kind of dorky too because I think Vern is dorky. Eh. It's usable, nms.
Harrison is alright.
Tate is alright. Too clippy for my taste, I guess. But if you don't mind surnamey names it's not bad.
Elwyn is alright. Oddly refreshing. It's not what I would pick, but I think it'd be neat to see. Seems sort of unisex, I guess.
