Male names ending in -ander.
Because I have always had a soft spot for male names ending in -ander (which are usually latinized forms of Greek names or hellenized names from a different language and culture), I decided to compile a list of them, which is featured below.I would be interested to hear what you think of all the names in the list, particularly whether there are some among them that you deem usable in this day and age (that is, apart from the very well-known ones, such as Alexander and Evander). My personal favourites are marked with three asterisks (***). I think that most of my favourites are usable, though I find myself in doubt about whether they would work best as a first name, or as a middle name.Anyway, have fun with going through the list and thank you in advance for your input! :)

I like Alexander, Evander, Leander and Lysander. I think Cassander, Coriander, Archander (nn Archie?), Aresander, Dexander (nn Dex), Isander, Nicander (nn Nic or Nico) and Timander (nn Tim) could be usable as well.

Lysander is a nice classical name like Alexander and Evander. I can see Asander, Tasander, and Pyrander possibly being used for names. Meander and philander are words with meanings that aren't exactly virtuous. A Philander would be ever marked as a philanderer whether he was or not. I really dislike the scam in Scamander, and Neander makes me think of a neanderthal.

Aresander is pretty cool.
I'm pretty sure Charmander is a Pokemon and Cleander looks like it would be said "CLEAN-der"
Coriander is cool too, I've always liked that one.
Isander sounds ok but looks incomplete. Plus my iPhone just tried to correct it to "islander"
Meander might be ok if it weren't a word.
Periander is ok.
Philander is unfortunate.
Poemander is interesting.
Scamander has "scam" right there up front.

In theory I'd say I like names ending in the -ander suffix, but most of them don't really work for me. I love Alexander and Evander, and also Leander. Lysander is alright.

I love Cassander. I always have. The rest are okay, and if I lived in Greece I'd use them (with the os ending, obviously) and it would be cool, but in the US I feel like it wouldn't be received well.
Besides Cassander, I like:
Tychander
Tisander
Peisander
Periander
Apsander
