Heh, there's a teacher at my kids' school who has a son named Orion. He's 11.
I've run across several Orions actually. So yeah, kinda popular!
To me it's like the logical next version of Brian & Ryan, and it sounds just like O'Ryan... these things really make it far namier than something like Sirius or Jupiter. Just like Andrea makes Andromeda namey. So I don't think it's really as far out there as it might seem.
Personally what I like about it is the heroic vibe, and the references to bowhunting, mythology, and astronomy.
Piper is so bad. Maybe you've saved a future woman from being named it. Nice going.
