Rayne -yay or nay?
I have really been loving Rayne as a female first name. Is is too tacky? For some reason I don't really like Rain as a first name but I like it as a middle name.

My very first reaction was to mentally associate Rayne as a creative extrapolation/feminization of Ray / Raymond. I did not think of the nature word or see any mental imagery as I do when I read the Rain spelling.
On its own, Rayne did not strike me as "tacky" but if this spelling is meant to mean "rain", the alteration does feel silly to me. I don't mind Rayne visually and it's easy to pronounce. Sound-wise, I prefer Reyna / Rayna.

What about Reign?
I really love Reign for a girl =)

It's certainly tacky. Whether it's too tacky will depend on your tolerance for tackiness.
You should get away with it, I suppose, as long as you don't name her sister Storm.

Maybe spell it as Raine.
I have a second little cousin named Raine, I think it is fine to use. So Yay! :)
Nay, but I do like Rayna.
Hi !!!
Rayne as a variant of Rain?
No! No! No! It is too tacky!
When I saw the question my first thought was that Rayne could be a variant of Raine/Reine/Reina/Regina but...when I saw that you were asked for a variant of Rain...nay!!!
Well..Rayne as a variant of Raine/Reine is tacky too.
So...I'm sorry. It is a big Nay! XDXDXD

Nay. I once knew a boy named Rain. In reality, it's a really odd name to use on a daily basis.
