Re: Unusual Autumn Name
Outside of the actual name of the season, I don't know whether I've considered any name "autumnal," so this is a difficult question for me to answer.Combing through my PNL, there's:Amber (the color is quite autumnal)
Circe ("witchy" name)
Henna (the color of the dye is quite autumnal)
Keturah (means "incense" - which I associate a bit with fall, but that might just be me)
Morgana ("witchy" name)
Morgause ("witchy" name)
Persephone (autumn is when Persephone leaves for Hades / the Underworld)
Phyllida (means "foliage")
Ruby (red)
Scarlett (same)
Topaz (birthstone of November)
&
Linus ("It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" - I know his character does way more things in different specials, but I associate him with the Great Pumpkin)
Perran (ultimately means "black" - which makes me think of Halloween)
Rowan (the tree is also called the "witch-tree")
Yorick (main association is the deceased fool in "Hamlet," when the title character takes his skull out of a grave and gives his "Alas, poor Yorick" monologue - the scene feels quite Halloween-ish)I had to really search for these. Going through my PNL, I realized I'm much more drawn to vernal (spring), or even estival (summer), names than autumnal ones. Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
