You know what, this is a really nice name. I think it's going on my list. It's really pretty, dark, and interesting. It's also simple and recognizable.
My older sister named her kid Annabelle because her favorite poem is Annabel Lee. I could have a Lenore and we could be goths together.
I've also decided I'm going to fudge some etymology about it - and not only for Lenore but for the entire Eleanor family.
The real etymology: from the name "Aenor" of unknown origin. The first bearer was Eleanor of Aquitaine, whose name began as "alia Aenor" - the other Aenor (her mother was Aenor).
My fake etymology:
LENORE MEANS "THE DARK"

Throw your opinions and combos at me please. I'm not interested in it as a middle name; as an iamb (ba-DUMB, le-NORE) it follows a rhythmic cliche I'm not interested in participating in.
