...really? I think it's actually pretty popular here. One of the semi-regular posters even recently named a son George.
I like George more than James and Alexander, although I'd say Alexander is more classic. George isn't a personal favorite of mine, but I'm fond of it.
Maybe George has more of a distinct character/vibe than Alexander or James because it hasn't been used as frequently in recent years (at least in the US, where many posters live), so that makes it more polarizing...it's also associated with Prince George, a celebrity baby; that could make it seem trendy, which lots of people dislike.
