Yeah.....
I'm American, assigned female at birth, and my middle name's Elizabeth (it's a VERY basic name, actually). I had three Williams in my theology class last year (all male)

My full first name is William, and I’m a man. Personally, I’ve only met one girl called William; she went by Willa (and hated her name). She was 23 years old. While I’m all for abolishing gender norms, William is highly masculine in my opinion. I think it sounds weird on a girl, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it; I wouldn’t judge any girl called William. The same opinion goes for a boy called Elizabeth. It would not be my child, so I can’t say anything. William and Elizabeth are such common names here; William for boys and Elizabeth for girls. I told my trans friends about meeting this girl called William; they assumed she was MTF trans, not cisgender (like she was). I thought it was cool to meet my first girl William, though. Yet, I felt sorry, because she hated her name.

Where did you hear that from? I find it unlikely that it hasn't occurred a few times in other places where English names are common. These are the US numbers from 2021:7,190 baby girls named Elizabeth
5 baby boys named Elizabeth12,088 baby boys named William
21 baby girls named WilliamI don't know how to look up the numbers in other countries.

sorry to burst your bubble ...But people aren't actually going around naming their sons Elizabeth and their daughters William in the USA. You are no doubt looking at Social Security Administration popularity lists from the early days, and you'll see that kind of thing there; boys supposedly named girls' names, vice versa, also people supposedly named Unknown, Baby, Infant, Girl, or Male.
This reflects problems with record-keeping. (You'll even see "Brain" listed as a name, but really it was a misspelled/miswritten/mistyped Brian.)
