The name marlene it says in most descriptions, comes from Mary Of Magdelene. That Marlene is a combination of both the names Mary & magdelene. It says the origins are from Germany & that Marlene Dietrich first used the name. Was that for the first time in Germany? If mary & magdelene come from the first testament than surely the real origins are from Hebrew. It then ended up in Germany(pronounced Marlena). In Enlish it is Marlene. Does anyone know where the name 1st originated from? Thanks Marlene
