A punctuation pet is a punctuation mark you treat as a "pet". In practice, they actually mostly sit there and look cute. But while doing that they serve as a reminder not to overuse--abuse--punctuation on this board, or else someone will rescue your suffering punctuation and put them up for adoption to good homes.This board--in fact, most of the Internet really--is public, and therefore I think my comparison is absolutely dead-on. But let's just drop that, shall we?In fact, if we want to continue any of this, we should go to the Lounge because this is terribly off-topic on this board.
