Michele
MICHELE
Gender: Masculine
Usage: Italian
Italian form of MICHAEL However, how do you pronounce it? There is a boy in my sister's class whose name is Michele - pron. as Michael - however, I doubt that that is the correct pronounciation, or perhaps it is?

It must be...to appease French ears. I am pretty sure it's with a k-sound:

I think the confusion is between french and Italian. In Italian, c and g followed by palatal vowels (e or i like) is soft (english ch and j like), and the h is introduced when a hard (k and g like) sound is desired in those positions. French rules state ch for a soft sound in all contexts.
