Did this girl seem to be East Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), southeast Asian (Indonesian, Malaysian, etc.) or South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, etc.)? If she was from South Asia or Indonesia or Malaysia I would assume that this was merely an alternative pronunciation for A'isha.
