Your Adoptees!Jemima Chloe is a twelve-year-old girl from England. She has been orphaned and living in the slums for the past few years until she was rescued by the government to be adopted. She is an outgoing and cheerful girl who loves to listen to music and dreams of being a musician, even though she often dismissed the wish as being far-fetched.Diana Susie is Jemima's thirteen-year-old friend. She met Jemima when she was living in the alleys and befriended her. She is a more quiet girl with some traces of violence, but usually remains level-headed and practical. Like Jemima, Di loves music, and she also has a soft spot for pastries, as she remembered her grandmother used to make them before she died and Di was forced to live in the streets.

6 months later.....Its been 6 months since Jemima "Jem" and Diana joined our family. Penelope was thrilled to have two older sisters! It took a while for Jem and Diana to get used to sleeping in their own rooms so I stayed with Jem and Dominic stayed with Diana. Jemima has her own guitar now and also learned the piano. She is very talented and loves showing off her skills to everyone. Diana also learned the piano and guitar with Jem. I also bake pastries often with Penny and Di, who loves to bake with us. The three girls get along very well and often jam together. Jemima and Diana are both doing well in their grade 7 classes. We would all like to thank you very much for giving us these two wonderful daughters. Thanks again,
Caitlin, Dominic, Diana, Jemima and Penelope

Your Adoptees!Erik is a five-year-old boy from Slovakia. He is suffering from a case of nephritis, and his parents could not afford the medical attention needed. He likes to play with toy cars, bicycles, and anything else that has wheels.Lestari is a four-year-old girl from Indonesia. After her father died in the tsunami of Aceh years ago, her mother had remarried, but her stepfather often neglected her, leading her to be given up for adoption. She likes to dance her traditional dance and loves animals, but has no pets of her own.
vote up1
A year later...Erik is now cured of nephritis. He responded very well to the treatment with steroids, and is now a healthy child. He just started school and is very excited about making new friends. Erik and Stephan often go cycling together, and he has more toy cars than anyone can count, despite Lukas sometimes stealing a few. Recently he has been saying he wants to be a Formula 1 racer when he grows up, but he also says he won't mind being a taxi or bus driver since he'll be able to drive all the time.Lestari is an extremely affectionate child, who will make friends with anyone. This can be a bit dangerous but she knows not to talk to strangers unless her parents say it's okay. When Christiane started taking dance lessons Lestari demanded the same, and now they both enjoy themselves immensely while at it. Lestari even taught Christiane her traditional dance, and Lukas wanted to learn too; his coordination is still a bit lacking, though. She is Zita's primary caregiver now, and spends much of her free time talking to the canary. Stephan and Christiane are considering getting her a hamster for her birthday, since she loves animals so.

Your Adoptee!Wilma Joanna is a fourteen-year-old girl from Brisbane, Australia. When her parents died of a car accident when she was five, the event traumatised her so much and made her phobic to cars and driving. Her aunt and uncle found her phobia increasingly hard to bear, especially with her frequent nightmare spells and trauma. She likes to play monopoly whenever she can - that is, whenever anyone wants to play with her, which was not quite often - and is known to paint emotional, abstract pictures.
vote up1
Thanks!6 months later:Wilma was happy to find out that her new parents and sister love board games. Now she almost always has someone to play monopoly (and other board games) with her. Recently Wilma started taking art classes at her school and is really enjoying them. Dorian says that Wilma is quite talented painter. We have found a good therapist who has been specialized to severe, life-restricting phobias. After starting the therapy Wilma has made a little progress with overcoming her phobia and her nightmares have become less frequent. We hope that one day Wilma will overcome her phobia, or at least finds a way to live with it so that it doesn't restrict her life too much. It seems Wilma, Dahlia and Jess are starting to play monopoly right now. I think I'll join them, so I have to go now. Thanks again!

Your Adoptees!Elise Miriam is a sixteen-year-old pregnant teen from America. After her pregnancy, her family want nothing more to do with her and drove her out. She is six months pregnant already, with a child expected to be a boy. She likes to listen to music and dreams to be Grizabella in CATS someday. Other than that, Elise is also a fan of amateur photography, taking snapshots of the places around her.Miquel Jaume is a three-year-old boy from Catalonian Spain. He has albinism, and his eyes does not seem to be working properly for some reason. His parents were unable to care for him and gave him for adoption. He loves football (soccer) and likes to doodle on paper.
vote up1
6 months later...Elise gave birth to a healthy son 3 months ago. She named him Dale Ian after Ron's and Margot's fathers. She and Katherine became great friends and she chose her to be Dale's godmother. Katherine is now attending college in another state but they still talk to the phone a lot and e-mail each other daily. She takes drama classes once a week and plans to apply to the most prestigious drama schools of the country. Firstly she was depressed and thinking about her family but Margot encouraged her to go to therapy and supported her a lot. They spend a lot of time together and Margot teaches her new photography tecniques. She recently started calling her 'Mum' and Margot was ecstatic. When Miquel joined the family was very sad and scared. He didn't know English and he was crying a lot. Ron and Margot decided to change his name and now he's named Adrian León. He is learning the language and he's learning very fast. He likes playing football with Ron and he is very popular amoth the other kids in the playground. He also likes snuggling and watching Disney movies with Margot and "playing" with Dale. Only a week ago he had eye surgery and his doctor believes that his eyes will work properly for now on. He also has to wear a hat and sunglasses and use a lot of sunscreen everytime he is exposed to the sunlight but he is used to it now.

Your Adoptees!Joseph Taddeo is a seven-year-old Italian-American boy. After his parents were divorced and his mother wanted to marry again, neither his father nor his stepfather want anything to do with him. He is slightly hurt by this, but resumes being the cheerful sort he is. Joey loves to listen to music (his mother reportedly state that his first sentence was "'Cause fis is Friller") and is known to be a very fast runner.Katherine Opal is Joey's nine-year-old sister. She, unlike him, is much more quiet and prefers to read in peace rather than sprint away. She loves nature, and wants to be an artist, drawing pictures of leaves and landscapes often (and it is notable that her drawing was more than doodles). Kathy loves her brother very much, but sometimes can't stand his hyper moods.

A year laterIt was amazing for us to see how well Joey and Kate fitted into the family. Joey is really proud of being a big brother to Lily and takes on this task very seriously. He and Lily are very much alike with their cheerful, always happy personalities, and became best friends very quickly.
Joey recently joined the track and field team of the elementary school, and he is also trying to persuade us to let him take up piano lessons.
Kate, who is now ten years old, is a bit of a quiet antithesis to the other two, but always tries to watch out for them. She found a role model in Julia and enjoys to watch her work for hours without getting bored.Julia and Dylan (33), with Kate (10), Joey (8) and Lily (7)

Your Adoptees!Tatiana and Natasha are newborn identical twins from Russia. Having being born out of wedlock, their teen mother decided it was best to give them up for adoption to be cared for by people who can care for them better than her.Michele is a four-year-old Jewish Italian boy. He loves football (soccer), finger painting, and jiggling off to music. He comes from a very poor family with many children. His parents thought gave him and his brother for adoption since they cannot care for them.Luigi is Michele's five-year-old brother. Like Michele, he also loves football and jiggling to music, except he seems to be more capable of the latter, making up his own mini dance routines.Keren is a two-year-old girl from Israel. Her parents died in a car accident, and her elderly grandmother could not care for her and all her siblings. She is interested in bright colours, paint, and dolls.

A year laterTati, Stacey, Micky, Luigi, and Keren have settled in nicely with our other 5 children. When we first started the adoption process we asked for 3 boys and 2 girls, yet we got just the opposite. At first that seemed bad because we'd have more daugthers than sons but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Luigi and Michele were the first to arrive via train. Both were very clingy but soon Luigi found a love for video games, and Michele found a love for playing hide and go seek with Tally and Carrie. About a month later we left for Russia. All the children stayed at our house with Tony's sister and parents. When we got their we went to the orphanage to pick up Keren. Keren was very happy to go home to the windmills. Liana Marion, nbDaisy is very impressed that we have adopted so many new brothers and sisters for her, she loves playing with them, especially Casey! We have allowed Casey to take up violin lessons at school, but have not yet bought him his own violin for fear of him not getting the hang of it! He is very shy, noticably at school, where he seems to have only made two friends, one of which is the next door neighbour, Jackson, who is rather outgoing and was first to come and see the new arrivals! Both Casey and Rodney have joined the local football club, but Rodney is much better than those his own age and has been moved up a couple of classes. He loves it. We have had some problems with behaviour from Rodney, particularly towards Casey, with him being quiet and he seems to feel the need to play pranks on Amy a lot! Otherwise, he is settling in well.Amy and Daisy are sharing a bedroom, which both girls love as, although there is a difference in age, they both enjoy playing with dolls and practicing their dance routines as Amy has been put in Daisy's class due to her being new. She may be moved up into a class with children her own age if she does well in the upcoming show. Amy has partaken in gymnastics at school during lunchtimes and really enjoys these.
