The Castillo family
Juan Antonio and Fiona live in a three-bedroom apartment in a small town outside Montevideo, Uruguay. He has straight brown hair and brown eyes, and has just started his very first job after getting his medical degree. Fiona has straight red hair and green eyes, and is a corporate lawyer at a small law firm.

Juan Antonio is offered a fantastic job in genetics research in Singapore. After serious deliberation, it is decided that he will take the job and the family will go with him - all except Guadalupe, who cannot imagine leaving her home country and will instead go live with her daughter. Fiona's horse Dagda is also left behind to live out the rest of his life in comfort with a friend of the family, whose young children just want a horsie to pet and pamper. Glinda the cat comes with them, though - nobody would dare try to part her from Angel, her favorite kitten. The family settles into their new home, practically a mansion, fairly easily all things considered.
