KleeAnne & Rylo?
My sister, Rebecca, just had twins, a boy and a girl. Our family is up in arms over the names she and her husband, Timothy, have chosen:Girl: KleeAnne Whitney Shyma
Boy: Rylo Sterling KaysonOur family is used to traditional names. My brother's name is Peter and his children's names are Diane, Christopher, and Nathan. My other sister's names is Pamela and her children's names are James and Emily. I, Rachel, named my daughter, Katherine. Why would my sister and her husband choose names that don't exist? Have you heard of these names? Our parents are very displeased with this! I know we can't change there minds, but are these real names?

Suggested NamesHi again. I know what everyone is saying about how we should butt out of my sister and BIL's decision of KleeAnne and Rylo, but our parents have now crossed a new line and suggested, that's putting it lightly, names for the twins. Whether or not you agree with our parents butting in, what do you think of these names?Girl: Meredith Lorna Jane
Boy: Carlton Nathaniel ThomasThose names aren't used too much, right?

How 'bout LeeAnne and Ryan - they sound like a compromise

I'll tell my parents about those two names - thanks. What are your suggestions on middle names, though? The tradition is two middle names.

Some thoughts...Hmm, LeeAnne is already composed of 2 names, don't you think another 2 names would be too much? Just my opinion... How about
LeeAnne Savannah -
1. Lee = meadow, pairs up with Savannah ;)
2. Or Lee as a form of Leah - gazelle + Anne - grace -> LeeAnne = graceful gazelle - sounds good with Savannah :)
3. Or Lee as a form of Leah, which could mean "mistress" -> LeeAnne Savannah - graceful mistress of the savannah and
Ryan Gratian Leslie -
Ryan - little king, Gratian - graceful, Leslie - meadow land -> Ryan Gratian Leslie - graceful king of the meadow. I do hope your BIL's last name is not Leslie :)...
Hope that stirs some ideas :o)

I forgot...You can add Ryan Gratian Blair and LeeAnne Sharon to the "graceful master of the plain" theme :o)

I personally would change atleast the order on the girl name, Meredith is a little strange. Carlton isnt that bad, and Nathaniel is pretty good. But adding Thomas and Jane is a little much..

Evil Twins: Kleenex and Mylar!

LOL ! just horrible !! I think they made them up

I spose they could be worse (?), altho KleeAnne rings in my head as "Klingon" and Rylo sounds like a Bulgarian brand of laundry detergent. At least they yield nicks (Klee or Anne, and Ry) that may not get em murdered under the bleachers.- Da.

Rylo is a Bulgarian type of laundry detergent? Or was that supposed to mean "sounds bad" :)?

Whoops! No offense intended to any Bulgars out there. It's just that "Rylo" sounds like a made-up product name, just not one in English. (I could've said "Danish detergent" as easily, but Bulgaria has been on my mind this week. I'm: (

While I agree that these names are horrible and the kids are probably gonna get picked on or beat up a lot, it is really none of your or your family members' business what they name their children. If I had family members that did not like my name choices for my children, and I did, I told them to butt out and if they wanted to choose a name then buy a pet or have another kid.

I love find new names but... this is even a bit much for me...I dont think the name Largus and Tsunami is so bad anymore...
I dont think KleeAnn is so bad... not good... deffinatly, but, im not about to burn my ears out over it
I automatically noticed its resemblance to Kleenex, and I do believe it is just Leeann with a 'k' in from, or maybe Klio and Ann combined
As for Rylo, Sounds like Rollo, the chocolate bar, or Rolly, the fat dalamation, or someone who liked J.Lo. to much...
Kayson Sterling is a nice name, and Whitney, not my preference, is a common enough name, as for Shyma... sounds like Shiny and Shimmy...
Perhaps instead of a family being upset at not having 'common normal names' camly and thoughtfully purpose to them the idea of changing them on the basis of how the public will view the child.
I have seen many children with bizarre to unique names be treated very differently just because of what their parents chose.
I do believe those names will cause teasing and be detrimental to the childrens upbringing.
The fact that you dont like that names probably means squat to them, so show them a better reason.
Maybe they can call the children by their middle names, not Sterling of Shyma though...
Shyma also sounds like Shammy... as in the thing i clean the car with or the black board
BTW i never knew Sterling was a name, so thankz ;)~Silver

And twenty years from now, KleeAnne and Rylo may be posting at BtN trying to find the meanings of their names!

I hope the Kabalarians are still around by then, so we can send 'em there.

LOL!

Those names are very far out, to say the least. KleeAnne is pretty close to Kleenex and Rylo sounds like a candy bar or heart burn medicine. Perhaps they were trying to break the traditional pattern your family has started?

I personally like slightly different names, but I have to say that I agree with you on theese names. I don't like either one of them. KleeAnn sounds like a disease, and Rylo sounds like somethimg you might name your Rotweiler. I do like the name Kayson for a boy, maybe they should switch some thigs around. Just my opinion.Sarahjeanne
