Re: names on my mind
Emmanuel seems weak to me, probably because of one I knew.
Ira - I love the meaning and sound too, but I wouldn't use it because it sounds really Jewish and I would feel weird about that (because I'm not Jewish).
Nathan seems super safe and normal, you can't go wrong with it, but it's a tad forgettable lately.
Soren... um, how are you saying it? Sur'n, or Sohr-en, or what. It's cool, yeah, but seems quite foreign.Joan is my MIL and I've never liked it. I just don't like the OAN. Groan moan ... it strikes me as really plain. Not ugly, but homely. I prefer Jean or Joanna.
Katarina - it seems sort of superficial to me, to use that and not Katherine, if you're not European. Only sort of. It's nice regardless. Also it's long. Katrina? Or would Katarina go by a familiar shorter form?
Theresa is alright. Very conservative and not imagey. A good name to bear. Therese seems less nicely formed and wants a French prn, for me.
Theda - geez, I like it too. It's sort of glammy, but I could get used to it on a real person. nn for Theodora.
