Read Audrey Niffenegger's awesome novel. I used to hate the name, until I read the novel - it made Henry sound very nice, and even timeless and classic, and perfect. It's a lovely name when you see it in a different perspective.

Henry Jaynes Fonda (May 16, 1905 – August 12, 1982) was a highly acclaimed Academy Award-winning American film actor, best known for his roles as plain-speaking idealists. Fonda's subtle, naturalistic acting style preceded by many years the popularization of method acting.

Fonda made his mark early as a Broadway actor, and made his Hollywood debut in 1935. Fonda's career gained momentum after his Academy Award-nominated performance in 1940's The Grapes of Wrath, an adaptation of John Steinbeck's novel about an Oklahoma family who moved west during the Dust Bowl. Throughout six decades in Hollywood, Fonda cultivated a strong, appealing screen image in such classics as The Ox-Bow Incident, Mister Roberts, and 12 Angry Men. Later, Fonda moved toward both more challenging and lighter roles in such epics as Once Upon a Time in the West and family comedies like Yours, Mine and Ours (with Lucille Ball).

He was the patriarch of a family of famous actors, including daughter Jane Fonda, son Peter Fonda, granddaughter Bridget Fonda, and grandson Troy Garity.

In 1999, he was named the sixth Greatest Male Star of All Time by the American Film Institute.

Henry Valentine Miller (December 26, 1891 – June 7, 1980) was an American writer and, to a lesser extent, painter. He is known for breaking with existing literary forms and developing a new sort of "novel" that is a mixture of novel, autobiography, social criticism, philosophical reflection, surrealist free association, and mysticism, one that is distinctly always about and expressive of the real-life Henry Miller and yet is also an imaginative construct. His most characteristic works of this kind are Tropic of Cancer, Tropic of Capricorn, and Black Spring. He also wrote travel memoirs and essays of literary criticism and analysis.

He was played by Fred Ward in the 1990 movie Henry & June, and Rip Torn in the 1970 film adaptation of Tropic of Cancer.

Henry is a lovely name. It's strong but very sweet. It's not very common where I live, and I only know a little 5 year old with it and a 7 year old. It suits both. If you want a strong, sweet, not common, great name, pick Henry!

Henry is my father's name. He's never liked it. He says he got teased for it when he was a kid (apparently it was a weird name in NYC in the fifties), and it's for animals.

I love the name Henry! I'm going to name my first son Henry. To me Henry is a great name to go through life with, i'ts cute as a child and masculine as an adult. Henry reeks of nobility, strength and intelligence. The name itself has been around for centuries and it's a shame everyone thinks it's too "old-fashioned" because of that. When all the kids today are named Shawn, Brad and Micheal, you'll regret you didn't pick Henry.

I like the name, but a boy would possibly be mocked at school with this name, so I named my dog Henry. That's not to say I think it's only fit for a dog, I just don't like the idea of a child being made fun of because his name has the word "hen" in it.

Some of you say that the name Henry reminds you of an old man? That got me thinking... because the name Henry reminds me of someone I'm friends with who is truely amazing. I guess that a persons impression of a name could all be in who they know or don't know... Hmm.
