Comments for Amon

From Wikipedia:Amon Adonai Santos de Araújo Tobin, known as Amon Tobin, is a Brazilian electronic musician, composer and producer. He is noted for his unusual methodology in sound design and music production. He has released eight major studio albums under the London-based Ninja Tune record label. One of my favorite musicians since 2010 too, he experiments with a lot of different genres within electronic and I think that’s pretty cool. All have a lot of different sounds. I recommend checking out his albums Chaos Theory and Permutation. He pulls out a lot of jazz and electronic, and has heavy bass lines in the other. Genuinely two of my favorite albums from him.

Comments for Billie

In my opinion, it sounds better as a guy’s name but there’s also Billie Holiday and Billie Eilish so...

Comments for Buster

Is this actually a real name? Because I’m just thinking of dogs, or Buster Keaton, but mostly dogs… and Prince Buster.

Comments for Cece

Sounds nice as a nickname. One of the main characters from my stories is named Cece, her full name being Cecilia.

Comments for Cecilia

I have a character from my stories named Cecilia, her nickname is Cece. And to be honest, who cares about the meaning? I like the nickname Cece a lot.

Comments for Clara

Clara Bow! I find this name pretty, and I’ve used it on one of my own characters before - not named after the actress though.

Comments for Django

Django Reinhardt is my only thought. I didn’t know this was a real name either, maybe just as a nickname or a pet name. It doesn’t sound like an actual name.

Comments for Joe

Sounds like the name of a cool jazz musician... Joe Cool.

Comments for Louis

Why did my first thoughts only go to King Louis XIV, Louis Tomlinson, and Louis Armstrong?

Comments for Malcolm

Why is no one talking about Malcolm in the Middle… that is my first and only thought.

Comments for Maria

Grand duchess Maria Nikolaevna Romanov I’m sure there’s plenty, but she’s one of the historical ones to come to mind.

Comments for Miles

Miles Davis, the trumpet player? Or the character I vaguely remember from the haunted Hathaways on Nickelodeon. It kinda does have a "cool" sound to it.

Comments for Nancy

Ha. I used this name for one of my own characters in the stories that I write. Not sure where I got the name from (I was in middle school when I came up with her character and I’m in my 20s now), but I think it was just entirely random like most of my names back then were - I can’t think of a source from where I got her personality or looks from either (she’s kinda edgy though, but not a jerk or mean or anything). I think my character is in her mid-20s by now and she has a boyfriend (another character of mine). My mind just immediately goes to Nancy drew (which I actually used to read when I was younger) or even the Simpsons’ voice actor. I think Stranger Things kinda made this name more popular again….

Comments for Ophelia

Makes me think of the Lumineers song (who are originally from my hometown and literally filmed a music video at my old high school) and yeah I know there’s the Shakespeare character too. I don’t mind it as a name all that much, but I prefer (and like) Viola a lot better - Viola is actually a pretty name to me.

Comments for Redd

Saw this, and went Redd Foxx.

Comments for Richelle

I have a character in the stories that I write whose full name is Richelle... her common nickname, as everyone knows her by, is Shelly. :o.

Comments for Sid

Okay, all jokes aside, even though I still primarily only think of Sid the sloth, there were two jazz connotations I quickly remembered. Sid Catlett, the bebop drummer, and Sid Phillips, the clarinet player who also made a couple APM tracks featured on SpongeBob (Sugar Beat).
From now on, you’ll have to refer to me as "Sid, Lord of the Flame".

Comments for Tanner

I have a character from my stories named Tanner, he’s dating a chick named Shelly... I don’t know why, it just sounds like a surfer dude name to me.

Comments for Theda

Theda Bara… whom I only found out about through that Lumineers’ album after I googled her. Sounds like it could work as a nickname only but not sure about a full name?

Comments for Vince

Vince Guaraldi, the jazz pianist who wrote the Charlie Brown tunes with his trio… Vinz from Nico & Vinz too but that’s spelt differently.I’m kinda surprised he hasn’t been mentioned already.

Comments for Zayn

Yeah. My only thought is Zayn Malik.
