One of my favourite names ever, reminds me of Kafka. If I ever have a son this will be his name.
I really think this name is a classic in its country of origin. The name recalls writers, composers and royalty from an illustrious past that only serves to further strengthen its reputation. A good well rounded name that should be given a second glance by parents who may wish to try a name that is unique in the Anglophone world.
I think of Liszt and Schubert when I see this name.
Um, yeah, where I come from, Switzerland, this name is considered extremely old-fashioned and still has not lost its "musty" image. It will take a little more than three decades before we see the elderly association fade from the public's memory.
This is my dog's name and I can only see this as a pet. Name for a dog or a cat. On a human… ugh no.
When I hear this name, I think of Schubert and Kafka. It is so classic, simple, and now unique. But it sounds like "friends" to me, and I am really not a fan of word names.
What really strikes me as a bit of a shock is how uncommon this name is over here in the States.
First of all, the trend for monosyllabic forenames are currently on the rise which would make Franz a gold medal winner in that category. Second, it is very easy to spell for a young child and as an added bonus, it is inexpensive to buy letters from Amazon to make this a personalized name tag. Finally, the rarity of finding this kind of name in a regular class room would mean your child shall have a unique presence as opposed to other students with a very common first name.
This name is okay. What I really like about Franz would be the fact that it is a first name with one syllable and that
would mean a relief for those who don't want a nickname and can look no further than this one.
Franz is an interesting name that sounds very riveting when it is pronounced correctly. It is also a rare name these
days for young people and I think it is time for a rebound soon enough.
Franz is a silly name that sounds like France. I would not consider this name for any child of mine.
Franz is now a senior citizens name in Austria and Germany. Most younger Austrians and Germans don’t have this name anymore, as they used to prior to 1950.
I am Hans... and I am Franz, and we're here to pump you up.That's what everyone thinks when they hear this name.
My first ancestor of my name (which is German) was called Franzis,
I suppose it derives from Franz but am not quite sure.
What a great name! Franz is usable in many different countries worldwide.
