It's the short form of the character Heathcliff from Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights'.

I find this name unpleasant to say because of the effort one has to put in to make the H sound. Like Ellen vs. Helen. Ellen is easier to say.

Love it. I think it's adorable.

I love the name Heath. It is my little brother's name. And my name is Heather. Heath and Heather. I think Heath is a very unique name. And who would want to name their kid Eeth?

Gorgeous name for a boy! Very strong and masculine. I would consider using it for my future son.
-- Anonymous User  2/24/2007
It could also be a short form of Heathcliff.

I used to like this name because it was passionate yet unique, but I recently met a guy called Heath and he was the total opposite and didn’t suit the name at all. I just hope I’ll meet someone nice with it soon to make me like it again.

I just recently saw the movie "The Patriot" and I loved it and Heath Ledger was in it, so I now love Heath Ledger, so I now love the name Heath. Also, Heathcliff is the longer version of this name (what else is new?).

I'd hate to burst all your bubbles, but I can't see this name without thinking of the candy bar.
-- Lady Seashell  2/27/2008
You didn't burst my bubble. I love the name Heath and would love to use it one day. It reminds me of Heath Ledger.

I don't really like this name. It sounds so bland. And I hate to break it to all of you, but people are going to massively overuse this name now that Heath Ledger is dead. I never liked Heath Ledger, and he starred in a lot of bad movies, including dreckfest Brokeback Mountain.

Reminds me of Heathrow Airport.

This name just oozes in masculinity. Love it.

Reminds me of my favorite candy, which is a good thing.

I believe it could be used as a short form of Heather when pronounced as HETH.

My sister's name is Heather. I've always thought that if I had another boy I would name him Heath. Very masculine and strong. Ages well.
-- WandaMcK  11/29/2015
I love this name. It's so adorable and strong sounding.
