This was the name of Charlie Bone's father in the 'Children of the Red King' Series by Jenny Nimmo. He was hypnotized and taken away, later to be found and reunited with Charlie.

Do you pronounce this name anything like Lyle? That's how I've always pronounced it. I always thought it was some odd spelling of Lyle.
