Not nice as a full name. Alright as nickname for Michael, but as a full name it would look boring. Michael looks more complete, stronger, but Mike has that soft sound, really better keep it as a nickname for other full names similar like Michael.

More than half of the men in my family are named Michael and go by Mike. It's a fine name, but there's nothing special about it. Yes, terrible people like Pence have this name, but lots of great people have the name, too. It doesn't convey "good" or "bad" to me.

I joke that every time you call a customer service line there is a guy named “Mike” and I don’t mean that in a bad way, because the Mike’s I get have always been very willing to help.
And I adore the name. To me, Mike is a trustworthy name, also really cool and works for any guy. Can’t think of a man whose name can’t be good ol’ “Mike” and I have a suspicion that the name is often faked for this same reason… That’s why companies always have a guy named “Mike” to talk to customers.
