It's normally pronounced "Cull-um". I quite like it but I wouldn't use it. I can't imagine it working anywhere but Ireland. Calum is the name of choice here in Scotland.

I guess I always assumed it was pronounced like Cole + m. :b I prefer the Coll-um prn, lol. There are a couple of actors named Colm (Colm Feore & Colm Meaney) but that's the only times I've ever seen the name. I think I prefer Callum, but Colm is quite nice.

Ditto to everything, exceptI have no idea who Colm Feore is. :)

He's a lovely Canadian actor...showed up in Caveman's Valentine with Samuel L. Jackson, Chronicles of Riddick with Vin Diesel, Stephen King's Storm of the Century, but he's really best onstage.

Thanks, Kae.This is him:

(And in the 'bio' part of his profile, it even says his fn is pronounced like "column". :b)The most (fairly) recent things I've seen him in were "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" and "Chicago".

I would spell it Colum or Collum or Cullum. I think it's nice enough.

I really like it - and it's not at all a name you'd hear everyday, which is a bonus.

I like it and I like the meaning behind it. At first glance I though it was said with the m at the end, though. I like the Coll pronounciation much better. :D

It's pronounced COLL-um or CULL-um, not Coll. I can see how the original message might be confusing though :)
